The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Doris Traplin can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: My condolences to your family.
Your mom worked with my mom( Delma Jackson) at Eatons for many many years. They were two peas in a pod, always there for each other.
I remember seeing her at Fairview Mall and we would sit and chat on a bench.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all through the days and years to come

Condolence: The Traplin clan has lost another bright light. Auntie Doris always made me feel special, whether we were having a laugh or a serious discussion. I always enjoyed our visits and chats about the times we had at the cottage when Mary, Brenda and I were kids. I know her strong faith helped her through the many losses she suffered, and I’m sure she has her arms around Mary, Harry Jr., and Uncle Harry. To my cousins and their families, I send you my love, sympathy and hugs. May your memories sustain you as you celebrate her life. Rest peacefully Auntie Doris.

Condolence: Doris was my “special friend”. I thanked Brenda for sharing her mom with me after my Mom passed away. I called her every morning and she’d thank me but I’d tell her it was just as much for my benefit. After my little chat with Doris I was ready to go off to work. We would go for a drive to New Hamburg and have a seat on the bench there in honour of Mary, went to Stratford for lunch or anywhere for lunch and coffee at Tim’s. We’d visit Elaine, Eric Traplin and Harry’s tree planted in his honour . We’d go to the theatre in Cambridge and St Jacobs .We went to see my aunts and uncles in Elmira. They loved her and thought of us as a pair. if I went without her or with my brother they’d ask “where’s Doris”? She loved her grandchildren, going to Toronto with Brenda and her granddaughters and islands with Brenda, Bens Christmas concerts at his school and walking to the mall for Tim’s coffee. She was an important part of my life. I love you Doris and I will miss you and will continue you to say “Lord, have mercy!” like she always did.
