After a full life of 93 years, Dorothy died peacefully at St. Mary's hospital on Sunday, April 14, 2019.

Predeceased by husband Harv, sister Marjorie Knapp and brothers-in-law Gus Knapp and Ted Richardson.

Survived by sister, Agnes Richardson, daughter Heather (Mark Gaboury), niece Jean Watson (Tom), nephew Bob Richardson (Marg) and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

With a teaching certificate from London Normal School, Dorothy taught school in Ontario, British Columbia and completed a year's teaching exchange in England. While there, she enjoyed extensive travel throughout the British Isles, Europe and Scandinavia.

After teaching, she received a B.A. from University of Western Ontario and a B.R.E. from Emmanuel College in Victoria University, University of Toronto and became a diaconal minister, working for several years in Christian education.

She enjoyed retirement and travel with her husband Harv, was an avid reader, gardener and Blue Jays fan.

The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the 7th floor medical staff at St. Mary's Hospital, to nurse Betty Narejko and Dr. Sandra Wismer for their compassionate care. Thanks also to the Doon Village Retirement Home staff for their attentiveness, and Rev Ellen Baynton-Walker for her spiritual guidance.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Niagara Children's Centre - D.H. Landells Education Fund, St. Mary's Hospital Foundation, Forest Hill United Church or the charity of your choice (cards available at the Henry Walser Funeral Home and at the church on the day of the service).

Visitation will take place at Forest Hill United Church, Kitchener at 1 P.M. on Friday, April 26, 2019, followed by a celebration of Dorothy's life at 2 P.M. Visit www.henrywalser.com to view Dorothy's memorial.
