The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Fr. Frank Reitzel can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The road to reconversion

We have not seen Father Reitzel in over 13 years. He filled in for our parish priest for a couple of weeks at St. John's Church in Burlington where we lived at the time. In that short period of time, with his compassion, gentle approach and knowledge of cannon law, he set us on the right path to begin our annulment processes which we gravely misunderstood. A year and a half later we received our approvals and asked Father to perform the convalidation service in 2007 at the same church. A year later we moved up to Bancroft and have been on a wonderful journey with the Lord. Father Reitzel helped bring us back to our sacramentals, both in our marriage and receiving Holy Communion after 20 years. Many graces and fruits have sprung up as a result of our reconversion. We recently met a man from Kitchener who joined the Knights of Columbus. We were driving to a Diocesan KOC meeting on Tuesday evening April 2nd and Father's name came up in the conversation. Today, this man advised us of Father's passing. We would never had known had all this not transpired. Father Reitzel, we look forward to seeing your laughing blue eyes, your rosy cheeks and your beautiful heart in heaven, may you rest in peace. We are and will be eternally grateful for your Priesthood.
