Stania, Holdine (nee Gust):

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Holdine Stania announces her passing on Thursday, April 25, 2019 in her 84th year. Loving mother of Jutta Langenecker, Kathie Young (Kevin), and Robin Stania (Anne Linkletter). Cherished sister of Olga Polziehn, and Monika Thill of Germany. Beloved grandmother of Eric Belanger (Jaleisya Spracklin), Andrew Belanger, Duncan Smith, Alex Langenecker, Aiden and Sydney Stania. Dear great-grandmother of Lyra Belanger and Braylynn Livingston. She is predeceased by her husband, Rudolf, son Ralf, brother, Helmut Gust, sisters Rosalie Appelt, Irma Boehnke, and Herta Winter, and parents Wilhelm and Wanda Gust. Holdine will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Canada, U.S.A., and Germany.

Holdine was an avid gardener, nature-lover, and enjoyed taking long walks, rain or shine. She was an accomplished cook having worked at Sunnyside Home for many years. Holdine was a devoted member of Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kitchener.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Sunnyside Home for their outstanding care and compassion.

Holdine’s family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral service will take place in the Chapel at 11 am. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, 243 Weber St. E., Kitchener.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
