Knipfel, Howard (May 9, 1919 - December 11, 2018)
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Pinehaven Nursing Home at the age of 99. Howard is survived by his daughters Karen Stemphlet and Beth Baker (Rob), grandchildren Gabrielle, Cameron and Olivia, and sisters-in-law Dorothy and Erika Knipfel. Howard was predeceased by his parents Fred and Elizabeth Knipfel, wife Marguerite, and brothers John, Alfred, Walter, Fred and fraternal twin brother Harold. Howard was born and raised in Petersburg and with brothers Walter and Alfred provided music for many dances during the 1940's and 50's. For 11 years he was church organist at Petersburg Evangelical Church and conducted the male choir. He was also the church organist at Holy Cross Lutheran Church for 15 years and conducted their children's choir. Howard always had a love for music. He was also an employee at J.M Schneiders for 41 years.
Howard's family will receive relatives and friends from 10-10:45 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral Service in the chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Roland Syens officiating. Reception to follow. Interment St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
