Christine (Chris) Corston
Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Lynn Matthews. He was a major influence on my professional life in librarianship. I spent almost half of my career at KPL under his leadership, during the 1970s and 80s, and have so many wonderful memories of him. He liked a good laugh, and one of our ongoing chuckles was that he would often receive mail addressed to “Ms. Lynn Matthews” because people assumed “Lynn” would be a female, while I would get mail for “Mr. Chris Corston”, because the assumption was made that “Chris” must be a male. He encouraged me through many different roles and positions at KPL over the years, and his encouragement and example stood me in good stead throughout the rest of my career.
His was indeed a well lived life!
