Obituary for Bruce Telfer

Bruce Telfer
Telfer, James BRUCE:
Passed away from bowel cancer at Freeport Grand River Hospital April 6, 2019 at the age of 74.
Survived by his sister Marie (Norman) Bell of Milverton, many nieces and nephews including niece, Edie (Carl) Cardwell of Kitchener and Janette Blatchford of Listowel who had the privilege of getting to know Bruce these past four months. We will miss the many, many stories and family reminiscing. Bruce appreciated the letter, cards and phone calls from family and friends while in Freeport.
Predeceased by his parents, Elsie (Houck) and Stanley Telfer; brothers and sisters Raymond (Shirley), Shirley (Earl) Johnson, Jean (Alex) Arnold, Ken (Joyce), Norma (Ken) Wenzel, Glen, Inez (Gordon) Hill and Joyce (Cor) Schalk.
Bruce was born and raised in Listowel until his late teens and then moved to Kitchener to work for many years in the moving business with Berg and then AMJ Campbell Movers. We heard many stories about his driving and moving adventures and meeting nice people across Canada.
The nurses and doctors will surely miss the questions. Bruce was an inquisitive individual. Thank you to Doctors and nurses for their wonderful care, and for answering those daily questions - personal and otherwise - and the early requests for his luncheon tray.
Thanks to Grand River Transit, Bruce was a daily patron which gave him the freedom to visit malls from Waterloo to Cambridge where he had the opportunity to make many “mall and bus driver” friends.
At his request, private cremation has taken place. Bruce's family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Grand River Hospital Foundation - Freeport Palliative would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
