Some memories of Bruce

Bruce, we knew each other as children but didnt have many visits over the last 50 years except at family funerals and when you came for Christmas dinners the last six years. As kids we had a lot of fun when Grandpa and Grandma came for a visit. Playing hide-and-go- seek outside, telling stories and standing in the orchard at night along highway 86 watching cars go by. Anna and I would be amazed at how you knew each year and model..how did he do that? Anna and I were also thrilled to see Grandpa's car coming down the driveway during harvest time as we knew he had dragged you along to help us in the fields. You were a great worker and the work was heavy labour for us. Because dad was a mechanic he often went off to repair machinery in the middle of the day, thus putting us behind in finishing our harvest. I now realize you would have enjoyed the delicious meals mom prepared, especially the pies. While in Freeport Hospital Carl and I sure enjoyed the many, stories of your driving/moving experiences. I only wish we had more time and that I had asked more questions. I know you had regrets about not visiting family which seemed strange since it was obvious that you were very interested in your immediate and extended family. I do know the Dollar Store will see a decline in chocolate bar sales - you loved your junk food. May you always have a "stash" as you drive around Heaven! Give big hugs to the family members who left before you. Rest in peace Bruce!
