Martindale, John Gordon

The family announces with deep sorrow the sudden passing of John Gordon Martindale on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Grand River Hospital at the age of 68.

Beloved son of the late Gordon and Betty Martindale.

He will be forever missed by his loving and devoted wife Marilyn, and his children Tammy Malcolmson, Michael Brown (Dawn), Lisa Brown (Ron), Shelley Martindale, Todd Martindale (Karolina), Tiffany Martindale (Michael O'Driscoll).

Dear Papa to Amber, Faith, Nolan, Fiona, Alison, Tatianna and Lily.

Dear brother of Judy Roane (Denise), Jill Crichton (Rick), Jay Martindale (Carol), Janet Dallaire (John), Jeanne Lorentz (Paul) and Jeri-Lou Nowak (Michael).

John will be missed and remembered by many nieces and nephews.

John was a long time employee of J.M. Schneider and Maple Leaf Food and retired in 2012 after over 40 years service.


Cremation has taken place.

John's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, June, 10, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Monday from 10-10:45 am at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener.

The funeral liturgy will take place in the chapel of the funeral home at 11 am on Monday, June 11, 2018 followed by a reception at the funeral home.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).

John's family is grateful to all the caregivers at Grand River Hospital especially nurse Nicole Lasic and Dr. Mats Lydon Junek for all their support.
