Passed away peacefully, April 7, 2019 at Brucelea Haven, Walkerton at the age of 88.
Beloved husband of Jean (Smiley) Weiler for over 58 years.
Dear father of John Herbert (Tracey) and Mary Kay (Dan).
Loving Papa of Simon, Gordon, Grace and Evan. Dear brother of Anna Lou, Joan and Rosemary.
John will be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Predeceased by his parents Herb and Clara Weiler and sisters Mary and Bernedette.
Dad taught for the W.C.D.S.B for almost 35 years. He was a well-known Industrial Arts teacher at St. Anne's Kitchener for most of his career teaching thousands of grade 7 and 8 students. John's favorite place was spending time at the family farm in Mildmay.
John's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 519-749-8467. The Funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at St. Anne's R.C. Church, 268 East Avenue, Kitchener followed by a reception in the church hall.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Hospice of Waterloo, or In Memory of John Weiler Go Fund Me page https://www.gofundme.com/in-memory-of-john-weiler would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
