Obituary for Judith Gale Gross (Tomkins)

Judith Gale Gross (Tomkins)
Gross, Judy

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February, 12, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of Gary. Loving Mother to Derek (Shaylagh) & Leslie (Peter). Cherished grandma to Carter and Addison. Judy was predeceased by her Father Ronald and Mother Hazel.

Private cremation has taken place. A celebration of Judy's life, on what would have been her 70th birthday, will take place in Southampton in August, details to follow.

Born and raised in Guelph, Judy moved to Toronto to attend Scarborough Centenary Nursing School where she graduated in 1971. She started her career in psychiatric nursing at Etobicoke General and continued nursing as we moved across Canada, touching many lives along the way and always being passionate about helping others.

After marrying in 1973, she and Gary lived in Ontario, twice in Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Alberta, and BC. Everywhere Judy went, she made instant life-lasting connections. She was well loved through her volunteering and hosting of countless dinner parties where her organizational talents, superb cooking, warmth, smile and kindness created many friendships. Her love of people was equally matched for her love of animals.

As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to Alzheimer Society of Canada.
