Obituary for Ken Parker

Ken Parker
Parker, Kenneth "Ken" Alan

Passed away unexpectedly, at his home on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at the age of 61.
Beloved partner of Anne Burke for 15 years. Loving brother of Wendy Parker - Gleason and Dennis Parker. Ken leaves behind two daughters and grandchildren he will now watch over. Ken will be missed by his Auntie Peggy and his feline companion Cleo. Ken was survived by his nieces and nephews Christopher, Alan, Steven, Melissa and Ryan. Predeceased by his parents Catherine (2000) and Alan (2013). Ken touched the lives of many friends and they will forever hold him in their hearts. Ken was a proud former member of G.R.A.A.C (Grand River Accessability Advisory Committee) where he helped fight for people's accessibility rights. Ken and Anne met at K-W AccessAbility, where he appreciated the friendships and the bus trips and he later joined the Board of Directors. He was an avid videographer and had an eye for photography, even after his eye sight diminished. He enthusiastically cheered on his Toronto Blue Jays and enjoyed playing a good game of bowling and lawn bowling. He loved cooking, his Tim Hortons and was a war history buff. As a teenager, he was proudly involved with Cadets. In his younger years, his first job was working at the CNE as part of St. John's Ambulance being available for first aid for those who needed it. He later went on to be a security guard, where he had a security dog "partner". Ken had a heart of gold and would do anything for those who needed him. Over the years he was active at his co-op (Willowside Housing), he served on the board where he would help organize activities. He joined the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 50 (Belmont Ave. West) in 2018, where him and Anne looked forward to their Tuesday night dinner and Karaoke.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Diabetes Canada, The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 50 or K-W AccessAbility - Members Summer Program would be appreciated.
