Passed away unexpectedly, at her home on Monday, March 18, 2019 at the age of 81.
Beloved wife of the late Jose Costa Canhoto.
Loving mother of Joe (Aneta), Joao (Suzanne Haines) and the late Dionisio.
Cherished grandmother of Sydney, Julia, Max and Zoey.
Dear sister of Maria Adelina Ornelas Freitas, Antonio Ornelas Garcia Da Rosa, Maria Fatima Ornelas Freitas and Francisco Xavier Ornelas Garcia.
Survived by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her sister Maria Ornelas Garcia Da Rosa and her brother Manuel Ornelas Garcia Da Rosa.
Maria's family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Teresa's R.C. Church, 44 Leonard St., Kitchener, on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery. Reception in the church hall.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
