Peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Marion Patricia "Pat" (nee Kuntz) O'Grady passed away in her ninety-third year. Predeceased by her husband, William Joseph "Bill" O'Grady (1918-2010) of almost 57 years. Loving mother of Margaret "Peggie" Wickware (Bryan) of London, England, Paula-Marie Sobering (late Charles) of Kitchener, Donald O'Grady (Donna) of Calgary, Alberta and Shawn O'Grady (Sandra) of Aurora. Treasured Grandma to eight grandchildren: Ryan (Stacy), Scott, Valarie and Paul Sobering, Shannon and Kaitlin O'Grady, Connor O'Grady and Carolyn Wickware. Predeceased by her parents: Margaret (nee Ward) and Edward Kuntz, four sisters: Sr. Dolores Kuntz OSU, Sr. Elizabeth Louise (Paula) Kuntz MM, Sr. Mary Lillian Kuntz CSJ and Mrs. Margaret Downing (late Charles), she is survived by her brother, Edward (Louise) Kuntz, London and sister, Barbara Schmuck (late Tom), Waterloo along with close friends, Louise and James Dunne (London) and many nieces and nephews. Born, in London, Pat graduated from Brescia College (UWO) in 1948, and then the Ontario College of Education. After teaching in Capreol and Espanola, Pat moved to Englehart to teach mathematics in the Englehart High School and where she met Bill. In 1967, the family moved to North Bay, and when Bill retired from the Ontario Northland in 1983, they moved to Newmarket. Pat moved to Kitchener in 2013 and most recently made her home at Forest Heights Nursing Home. All her life, Pat enjoyed crafts: paper tole, painting and knitting, in particular. Ever the teacher, she inspired us to use our talents and do our best. To the end, she had an amazing memory and completed the daily crossword puzzles. She will be dearly missed. Pat's family will receive relatives and friends from 7- 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Prayers 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's RC Church, 56 Duke St. West, on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 10 a.m. Reception to follow in the church hall. Private interment at St. John's Cemetery in Newmarket.
