Obituary for Michael Thomas Jack Gerrie
Gerrie, Michael Thomas Jack:
Born January 16,1945.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Michael in his 74th year. He died peacefully in his home on February 6, 2019 in Kitchener.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Janice Gerrie, and will be sadly missed by his son Chris Gerrie and his wife Fionna Lawrence and his favourite granddaughter Alyssa Gerrie, his sister Margaret Lawlor and extensive extended family in England.
Mike and Janice arrived in Canada in 1968 beginning their next journey at such a young age. Kitchener became their home where they raised their son and found friendships that have warmed their hearts ongoing. We want to thank everyone for all their love and support during this time.
Mike's family will receive relatives and friends from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm on Tuesday, February 12th, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Celebration of Life to be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 13th, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow. Cremation has taken place.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Prostate Cancer Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
