Obituary for Wayne Edwards

EDWARDS, WAYNE (ROBERT):

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Edwards on Sunday March 3rd following sudden health issues while on vacation at the age of 73.
Beloved husband to Maureen for 50 years, devoted father to Tabatha McIntyre (Chris) and Kim Ellis (Jimmy) and the late Tracy (2018). Adored and cherished poppa to his 7 grandchildren; Jordan, Brayden, Logan, Ethan, Taryn, Nolan and Wyatt and great grandson Greyson.
He will also be missed and remembered by his sisters and their families; Shirley (Barry) and Lynda (Doug), the late Gail (2012) (Craig) and his sister in law Kathy (Dennis) and his mother-in-law Kay Masters.
Wayne had a deep affection for his many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Wayne was employed with Dutch Boy/Sobeys, retiring as a store manager after 41 years, leaving behind many memories, stories and shenanigans. He was one of the founding members of the Sudsuckers fishing group and when his health permitted was an avid golfer, bowler and horseshoe player.

Wayne's family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm on Sunday, March 10th, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Celebration of his Life will take place in the funeral home chapel on Monday, March 11th, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow. Cremation has taken place.

Wayne was a hockey enthusiast and had a passion for minor hockey, as expressions of sympathy, donations to KMHA- Donna’s Kids, providing registration and equipment opportunities for children in the community (cheques payable to City of Kitchener), would be appreciated by the family.
