Passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the age of 61. Beloved husband of Gaynor for 37 years. Proud father of Daniel (Erin), Holly (Craig) and Felicia. Cherished "Poppa" of Jack and Elsie. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Elsie and by his brother David. Dear brother of Marion (Brian). He will be fondly remembered by his in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Tom was a volunteer with Kitchener Minor Hockey for 38 years, serving as President for the last 19. He touched many lives in the hockey community over this time and will be deeply missed. Tom also was an employee with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency for 36 years, retiring in 2017. His contribution to Canada's Food Safety System will be felt for years to come.
Tom's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral Service in the chapel on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. Interment Williamsburg Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to City of Kitchener (KMHA) - Donna's Kids (sponsored children's hockey program) would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
