I had the privilege to work with Tom for at least 25 years. He was an exemplary leader and person who made a huge impact on the food safety system in Canada and beyond our borders. His efforts will never be forgotten. Whenever I had a tough issue to deal with Tom was always there to help resolve it. I will never forget what he contributed to the CFIA and how honoured I was to have him as a friend. We have lost him far too soon. My sincerest sympathies to Gaynor and the family.
