Obituary for William "Bill" Collins

William "Bill" Collins
Collins, William "Bill":

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Bill Collins, surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Grand River Hospital at the age of 63.

Dad and best friend to Lisa and Mark (Chepita).
Treasured grampa to Liyana.
Dear brother of Edward (Susan), Roger (Deb) and Dan (Cathy).
Will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, Wilfrid (2010) and Helen (2019).

He was a tool and die maker at Lear Seating for over 31 years.
Bill never missed the chance to spend time with his granddaughter.
He enjoyed having in depth conversations and sharing a lifetime's worth of advice.
He had a love of sports; joining a pool league with his daughter, teaching his children to golf and coaching his kids' baseball teams. In the summer, Bill could be found camping at Sauble Beach, on the golf course or thinking about his next golf game.
He had a passion for classic rock and classic cars, driving a brand new '76 Mustang and later buying a '66 Ford Fairlane.
Bill was particularly partial to and protective of his record player, never allowing anyone to touch the diamond head needle.

Bill's family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will continue from 12:30 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2019, with a service in the chapel at 1:30 p.m. Reception to follow.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
