Passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2009 at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital at the age of 67.
Beloved wife of Barry for 48 years. Loving mother of Wendy Lynn Rowe (Chris Jones) and Scott H. Wakely (Lily). Great grandmother of Benjamin Wakely Rowe and Hunter Darby Wakely and Hudson Loran Wakely. Dear sister to Mike Burnett (Joan) of Niagara Falls, Shirley Horner (Carl), Flesherton and Jean Grenier of Kitchener. Sister-in-law to Noel Wakely and his wife Charlene of Collingwood, Edna Byers of Kitchener and Helen (Tom) Scott of Meaford.
Marnie will be remembered by Patricia and Chris Yesh and their family of Fort Wayne, Indiana and dear friend Valerie Freund (Wayne) and Beth Lopez and family of BC.
Marnie retired as a teacher from the Waterloo Catholic District School Board in 2000 after 30 years service.
Marnie’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral service 1 pm on Monday, May 4, 2009 in the chapel of the funeral home followed by a reception.
Rev. Janis Hamalainen of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church officiating.
Cremation to follow.
As expressions of sympathy donations to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
