Long time friend and more

I met Bridget in my first year of college at the Doon campus. We were both taking the Business Administration - Accounting program. My memory is vague during the time we actually met for the first time. I recall waiting to write an exemption exam to excuse us from an entry level accounting course. With Bridget's outgoing personality, we became fast friends. This friendship lasted for the full 3 + years of our college education. We met many other students during this time, enjoyed many card games in the cafeteria, shared many laughs, enjoyed a few beverages, always found each other when they played 'Paradise by the Dashboard Light' at all dances, saw each other through heartbreak - the stories could go on and on. Eventually we became neighbours when I moved in to the townhouse unit right beside her and her parents. A few years later, Keith and I purchased a house and we rented a room to Bridget as she was looking for a change from living with her parents. A job became available at Home Hardware that we thought Bridget would be interested in which she was successful at getting. This began her many years at Home Hardware. We spent all those years sharing our lunches and breaks, continuing to catch up on our lives. When Keith and I were married in 1996, Bridget was our MC. Bridget did a great job although I think her nerves got the best of her as she referred to us as the 'bride and gloom' a few times. This was easily laughed off in true Bridget spirit. Later I left Home Hardware head office to pursue my career. We continued to stay in touch although not as closely. I am so happy that her and Mark decided to live every day to the fullest since their last touch with cancer. Turns out we truly do not know when the last day will come. Bridget has been a dear friend for so many years. Her passing leaves a hole in so many lives! Bridget, I am so grateful that you are part of my life. You will be deeply missed.
