The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Detlef "Duff" Becker can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: Duff & I were friends for 14 years. I see his great soul as legendary & a hero in this world. He would help me every single time we crossed paths - whether in a line up, or in the rain with packages, or with a new challenge in my life, or to simply say hello & let me know someone actually cared how I was doing. He embodied, & was a true example of community, & a living bright heart, in a place & time in my life I really needed it. Thanks Duff & to all that supported him in his journey, so we could all enjoy his light as long as he were blessed to, & now eternally in timeless vibration. Be free now sweet soul. Sincerely, Amanda

Condolence: Seeing the pictures of my long time friend as a child leave me even more stunned with pain and loss. We do not understand child resilience- and we do not know how to teach it to the kids who need it most, but Duff was indeed resilient. The people whom he touched and who loved and cherished him understood his journey was not of his own choosing; we can only be glad that he chose us to walk a mile or so with him and try as we could to lighten his heavy load. I miss you, friend.

Condolence: To my brother "Duffy". My heart aches that you are gone so soon. You helped shape me into the woman I am today. I always admired your unique outlook on things and willingness to help others even though you had so much going on inside. You were a captivating story teller and had a wonderful sense of humor. We didn't get to see each other often enough living so far away from each other but I have a lot of good memories of us tucked away in my heart. Your love for music, random drives and endless amazing conversations will stay with me always. Rest in peace my dear Duff knowing you gave a piece of yourself to everyone you've ever met. Your dreams and ideas will continue to grow within us all. This world truly needs more kindness and beautiful people like you.

Condolence: My condolences to the family. I will miss your smile and you were always happy when you saw my dogs. Even though they would bark at times you still loved them. I remember our last conversation last year when you shared some of your life experiences and you told me how proud you were of one of your nieces who just got her degree and talked about how bright she is. It was the day we spent chatting the most out of all our times on our encounters during my walks with my dogs. Your smile and your caring personality touched our hearts. Henry and I will miss you.
