Obituary for Gerald John Benjamin

Gerald John Benjamin
Benjamin, Gerald “Jerry”
(31 March 1959 – 7 January 2019)

Passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Monday, January 7, 2019 at the age of 59.
Son of John and Karen (Sand) Benjamin, loving father of Lindsay Benjamin, brother to Garth (Brenda) Benjamin and uncle to Christopher, Danielle, Mark and Derek. He will be missed by Louise Kouba and her family, and Willow too.

To quote those who love him, “he was a gentleman and a gentle man.” His infectious chuckle, charming quick wit and bright smile could always be counted upon to brighten any room. In addition to a life-long career in the insurance industry, he had a curious mind with a passion for better understanding the world around him.

A talented craftsman, guitar player and pie-maker (blueberry was his specialty), he lived a full-life of adventurous world travel but was often happiest lake-side. He was a true, kind and steadfast friend, quick to share his time with those he loved. And for that, and so much more, he will be dearly missed and warmly remembered.

“These are the seasons of emotion, and like the wind, they rise and fall”

A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Tributes at 2:00 p.m.
