Kind and honest!

About 7 years ago Jeff came to work on the perishable day-shift I was in charge of. I messed up his schedule when he first came over and because of this we missed asking him for a lot of overtime. Normally when this happens, an employee is paid through a grievance as it is a union shop. Jeff approached me after the weekend, pointed out the error, and asked that it be fixed so we would ask him moving forward. I asked about whether we should put in for the missed overtime and Jeff replied that he was out of town so could not have worked it anyway, and to not worry about it. It was one of the most honest and kindest things I've ever seen in my 19 years with the company, I was truly touched. From then on, I would introduce Jeff to fellow colleagues as the most honest guy in the entire company. I'll never forget this remarkable act of kindness and honesty.
