It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful women – Honey.
Honey died surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital at the age of 80 years. Loving wife to Larry for 59 years. Precious Mom to Debbie (Brian) Lorentz, Donna (Tony) Germann, Diane (Larry) Aigner, Tony (Stephanie) and James (Claire). Kind and caring Gramma to Sheri, Sarah, Lee, Julia, Matthew, Michael, Chantelle, Michelle, Olivia, Caleb and to her special little Jaimee-Lee. Special Great-Gramma to Jackson and Carter Stoneman and Lana and Chyenne Aigner. Survived by her sister-in-law Marcie Winterhault. Also missed by many nieces and nephews and friends. Honey grew up in Breslau and was the daughter of the late Peter and Clara Bruder. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law John Strauss, her sisters Rita Gross and Marjorie Ireland, her brothers, Maurice and Ralph. Honey was a beautiful person who was known for her laugh. She loved to play her accordion for many gatherings and it was always enjoyed by many. She was a member of the St. Anne’s social committee for 40 years. Mom loved to quilt and so enjoyed her friends from her Thursday morning quilting group. Honey loved to feed everyone, you could visit anytime and there would just happen to be a freshly baked pie ready.
Honey’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 2-5 and 7-9 pm at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Prayer vigil will take place at 4:45 pm on Sunday afternoon. Prayers will take place at 12:20 am on Monday, September 24, 2012 followed by procession to St. Anne’s R.C. Church, 268 East Avenue, for a Funeral Mass at 1 pm..

Immediately following the funeral mass a reception will take place in the reception room of the funeral home.
Special thanks to the 3rd floor Palliative Care Team, Dr. Ward. Also thanks to the family, friends and neighbours for there visits, she truly enjoyed seeing you all. Especially we want to mention our Dad … what an inspiration you have been to all of us in the loving and caring way you took care of Mom . Thank you Dad.
As expressions of sympathy donations to the Fabry’s Society and Autism Research would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
