The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Wayne Hessel can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Linda and family, I am so sad for your loss. The loss of Wayne will leave a huge hole in a lot of hearts in particular in the Scouting community. Scouter Wayne was a person who connected with people, who helped people, who made people feel comfortable. He had a huge sense of humor and added that into everything, especially teaching youth and adults during his 30 years of Scouting. My son has fond memories of learning how to make bread (with near beer) and learning knots and such years ago at Camp Everton. My daughter years later being taught first aid in Medvents by Wayne - with lots of humor. Scouter Wayne made the world a better place. I have good memories of Wayne through the years at camps and training sessions. It was always a good time when Scouter Wayne was around. I am hoping that the memories will soon soften your pain. For grief never goes away, you just learn to live with it. Please know I am thinking of you all. Rest in peace Scouter.
