Who was Mary Henry

Who was Mary Henry? ... .a very practical doer. .a handy woman (Of course a woman can do that!) .a famous baker of much sought after pies .the propagator of a personal jungle of gigantic oleanders. (how did she get them in and out of the house each season?) .a worker determined that nobody in the room would work harder than she .the person who always paid restaurant bill .a landlady who could hardly ever bring herself to raise the rent or reprimand a naughty tenant. A woman who... .loved her kids, grand kids, and great grand kids without limit .was proud of her Irish and Presbyterian heritage .enjoyed walking along a beach, down a country road, and through a garden or park .very fervently supported the Conservative Party of Canada .was very fond of the reading. (Stephen Harper would have approved of her library.) ..loved engaging with people .was an unfailing friend for life. Mary... .loved her Lord, His Gospel and the Bible with a passion (The Psalms, read or sung, were her favorite.) .cared about her church and served it tirelessly .could whip up a banquet for 150 people, no sweat! (and clean up after it too) .reported for duty at 6:00 am to clean up after, or cook for street people on Wednesday mornings for several successive winters ( and took home the lions share of the dirty bedding and sock to launder) . listened to little girls memory work for over 20 years on AWANA night. (Sometimes she cheated and checked off verses the kids hadnt quite got perfect, but don't squeal on her.) . had some of the needier kids and their families to her home for some homemade cookies (Hospitality was a gift she exercised frequently.) .cared about immigrants- helping them to adjust to life in Canada in countless ways, meeting pressing personal needs, and providing some with cheap accommodation .supported more missionaries than she could keep track of (oh, that Faith Mission!) .prayed unceasingly as she went along through life Mary was a woman... much loved by many people, not least of which... this list maker.
